Project Profile:

Everyone likes a growth story.

And when it involves frozen custard, it makes the story that much sweeter.

While the core businesses are different, there are quite a few similarities between OWN, Inc. and Andy’s Frozen Custard. Each have roots in Springfield, Missouri. And both are growing businesses and capturing new territory.

The two, in a way, have grown up together.

In addition to the company’s home office, OWN has helped the client build ten stores in Kansas City and Springfield, as well as Rogers and Fayetteville, Arkansas. The team has also helped Andy’s renovate old sites in the Kansas City market.

In nearly every instance, OWN has handled permitting with the respective state Departments of Transportation in addition to core responsibilities in Civil Engineering, Geotech, Materials Testing, Land Surveying and Conceptual Design. And representatives of MoDOT, KDOT, and ARDOT have appreciated efforts to solve traffic-related concerns in advance. This includes presenting the governing bodies with considerate design decisions that make a positive impact on turn lanes and medians to limit backups in the store’s drive-thrus.

This combination of engineering acumen and permitting know-how lets Andy focus on what he does best: making great frozen custard.

And that’s a recipe for long-term success.
