US-65 and Route H/HH Interchange
Project Profile:
The US-65 and Route H/HH Interchange Improvements is a transformative project designed to accommodate the surge in truck traffic to Sedalia’s Rail Industrial Park, home to NuCor Steel’s $400 million rebar plant. Initiated in 2019, OWN supported Pettis County and the City of Sedalia with a successful Governor’s Cost Share Application, securing over $8.2 million—the largest award in the state. Breaking ground in early 2025, this $15 million project aims to enhance safety, efficiency, and accessibility for both commercial and passenger vehicles.
OWN’s multidisciplinary team brought together expertise from across multiple offices contributing to the project. Our services included:
- Design of a two-lane, two-span prestressed concrete overpass bridge
- A five-leg roundabout with a 200-foot diameter
- Three traditional ramps and one slip-ramp for US-65 southbound traffic
- 2.1 miles of relocated state highways and 1.7 miles of adjacent local roads
- Installation of 1,800 linear feet of storm sewer ranging from 18 to 84 inches in diameter
- MSE retaining walls, roadway lighting, signing, topographic and boundary survey, geotechnical analysis, bidding services, and material testing
OWN also provided construction phase services, including engineering support and material testing, ensuring the project’s success from initial design through execution.
This project showcases the power of collaboration, with OWN’s integrated teams delivering a comprehensive solution that addresses the needs of Pettis County’s evolving infrastructure. The new interchange enhances connectivity and positions Sedalia’s Rail Industrial Park for continued growth and development.
